We believe that each person deserves the chance to succeed. We offer outstanding literacy programs to help our students become more self-sufficient and self confident. Our teachers strive to provide caring instruction, encouragement and empathy to support the educational goals of each student we serve.

- Adults ages 25 to 44 who drop out of high school are 3 times more likely to receive public assistance.
- 69% of Idaho 's prison inmate population has not completed high school.
- A high school dropout is projected to earn $440,000 less over a lifetime when compared to a two year Associate Degree graduate.
We live in a time when understanding information is critical to almost every task you do each day. Understanding basic math, writing and reading skills will give you a solid foundation for future training and a new quality of life!
Students love our program. They become empowered and begin to open the doors to better employment, further education and training, higher self-esteem and more productive citizenship. Most programs are free - some are very low cost. Our staff and teachers are understanding, kind and considerate. We want everyone to have the chance to succeed!
Last year more than 4,000 Southwest Idaho residents took advantage of our programs and services. Daytime and evening hours are available on the main Boise State campus in Boise and the Canyon County campus on Caldwell Blvd. in Nampa throughout the year.
Literacy specialists are available to assess reading levels, and to assist students reading below the 6 th grade level. Volunteer tutors provide students with individualized attention.
Rural residents are thrilled to know that they don't have to commute to Boise or Nampa to take advantage of these programs. We offer classes in local libraries, church basements, city halls. schools, senior citizen centers and more in small towns throughout Southwest Idaho.
